PINK SALMON
Depending on the year you come, you might have the chance to fish for Pink Salmon. They spawn every two years on the even years, so if you have your heart set on a Pink then plan accordingly. Pinks are also known as Humpback Salmon because of the hump the male gets on his back during spawning time.
Even through they’re a little smaller, usually about 5-8 lbs, they are still a blast to pull in and put up a good fight!
When pinks return to the Kenai River, they come by the millions! Every back channel, side eddy, and slow water spot holds thousands of Pinks ensuring constant action for all. The best time to fish for Pinks is August of even years.
